OAKLAND CEMETERY - SUNDAY IN THE PARK - TBA

Each year the HBSA has an event at Oakland Cemetery during the annual   Sunday in the Park.  In honor of Father O’Reilly’s diplomacy and service, and for the bravery of the Hibernian Rifles (Irishmen who also stood in opposition to Sherman’s scorched earth campaign), in 1873 the City of Atlanta deeded the plot at Oakland Cemetery to the Hibernian Benevolent Society.  Each year we lay a wreath at the memorial, lay flowers at the gravesides, have Irish dancers, Irish music and are joined by all the Irish groups in Atlanta which participate.
